With only one confirmed omission (Jasper Pittard with a rib/lung injury), Port Adelaide has named four inclusions on an extended bench including Darren Pfeiffer, Jarrad Redden, Ben Jacobs and Cameron Hitchcock.
Midfield assistant Josh Carr says that the coaching group will determine who replaces Pittard on Friday.
Pfeiffer was squeezed out of the Power 22 against Melbourne but has trained strongly this week, whilst Redden and Jacobs have found form in the SANFL.
Hitchcock returned from injury for Glenelg last week and had a solid run in the Tigers’ league side.
Carr told PortAdelaideFC.com.au that the final composition of the team hinges on manyfactors.
“With Reddo [Jarrad Redden] being our second ruckman and with Fremantle possible to play all of Zac Clark, Jonathan Griffen and Kepler Bradley in their team, he is a chance to come into the side,” said Carr.
“We’re yet to finalise the team though so we’ll see what happens in our last running session tomorrow.
“Benny Jacobs has also been in good form for us in the SANFL and obviously with Jasper Pittard out and being a backman as well, Ben is a possibility to come in.”
v “So we have plenty to consider between now and tomorrow’s final selection.”
Club leaders Hamish Hartlett and Jay Schulz trained with the team on Thursday but were not considered for selection, whilst Jacob Surjan has been deemed fit to resume playing dutiesafter several weeks on the sidelines and will recover his form with Port Adelaide in the SANFL this weekend.
PortAdelaideFC.com.au will have all of the final team news first on Friday afternoon at 4pm.
