Fitness coup for Power
Port Adelaide has secured one of the AFL's leading fitness coaches in Cameron Falloon from the Western Bulldogs.
Cameron Falloon will join the Power as Head Fitness Coach after leading the Western Bulldogs’ fitness program for the last two years.
Falloon also spent two years in Geelong’s fitness department, including a season as Head of Strength and Conditioning.
Port Adelaide General Manager – Football Operations Peter Rohde said Falloon had been targeted as a key acquisition for the club.
“The role of Head Fitness Coach is one of the most important jobs in the football department, and we see Cameron’s appointment as a real coup for Port Adelaide,” Rohde said.
“The physical development of the Western Bulldogs during Cameron’s time with them has been obvious, and has coincided with their rise up the ladder this season.
“Not only does Cameron bring us his experience with the Bulldogs and Geelong, but he is also on the verge of completing his Masters in Sports Science and completed a detailed study on GPS use.
“We are looking forward to Cameron helping us start our 2009 pre-season on a very positive note.”
The club is working through a possible ongoing involvement with the club for its former Head Fitness Coach in Dan Comerford. Comerford has been in the role since January 2008, having taken over from Darren Burgess who joined the Socceroos.
Falloon’s starting date with the club will be determined in the next few days.
