I’M SHATTERED!

Sometimes it’s easy to take a Dream Team loss to your best mate…sometimes it’s not. This week definitely falls into the latter category - Gray’s Greats pipped the mighty Team Boak by a mere 21 points.

That’s nothing! A couple of kicks, a goal, a tackle, maybe a hit out or three. Alfie Hitchcock’s shoulder injury hurt my score - he was looking good before coming a cropper in the wet at AAMI Stadium, but here’s hoping he’ll be back in a few weeks as he’s shown what a valuable contributor he can be, both on the field and in Dream Team.

I’ve got a fair few trades and a bit of cash in the bank too, so I’ll definitely be thinking about maybe bringing in some fresh legs in defence or to run through the midfield this week.

Here’s this week’s possible options for players on the bubble:

Matthew Broadbent came in for his first game on the weekend and did well in the wet, picking up 73 points. Having overcome a pre-season injury and found form in the SANFL, hopefully he can help us to a win over the Hawks this week…as well as scoring well in Dream Team!

Daniel Stewart worked hard to pick up 40 points in terrible conditions for a big man, but at only $89,500 he’s still an absolute bargain as a forward.

Jordan Gysberts from the Demons had a great first game at the Cattery, picking up 103 points. He’ll hold his price for this week, so perhaps keep an eye on him to see what happens against Carlton.

The Bulldogs’ Jarrad Grant was a top 5 pick in the NAB AFL Draft in 2007, and his effort in the forward line and his tackling pressure has delivered good scores in recent weeks, resulting in a price rise of $156,300. Still pretty cheap as a forward who you sense is only going to get better.

Word's going around that Aaron Sandilands might be a late withdrawal against the Crows - it might be serious enough to warrant looking at other rucking options too.

Congratulations to Bill Fuller whose team Choco’s B******s got the highest score in the Official Pizza Hut Power Dream Team Group this week with a score of 2,229. He’ll be digging in to a week’s worth of free pizza thanks to Pizza Hut!
