Port Adelaide has made one change to the side that defeated Melbourne last weekend with Darren Pfeiffer coming in to replace injured defender Jasper Pittard.

Pfeiffer was omitted from the side that travelled to Darwin, however has been called in to play Fremantle on Sunday at AAMI Stadium.

With many options available for the selection panel to fill Pittard’s vacancy, the Power has elected for a like-for-like swap with Pfeiffer being given the opportunity to prove his credentials across half back again this week.

Having originally been omitted due to poor form, Pfeiffer has an opportunity this weekend to re-establish himself in the Port Adelaide side according to senior coach Matthew Primus.

“We weren’t totally happy with his defensive stuff and he’s well aware of that,” Primus told the media on Friday morning.

“We haven’t fixed it, we’re just giving him another opportunity.”

Ben Jacobs was a chance to fill the vacant spot but will instead play for Port Adelaide in the SANFL against Norwood on Friday night as he looks to recapture his AFL form over a second week in the state league.

He, along with Jarrad Redden and Cameron Hitchcock, will be on the Power’s emergency list for Saturday.
