Young fined, Schulz safe
Aaron Young has been fined for making negligent umpire contact in the third term of the Power's Round 21 game against West Coast.
EMERGING Port Adelaide midfielder Aaron Young has been fined by the AFL Match Review Panel (MRP) for making negligent contact with an umpire during Sunday's loss against West Coast.
Young was charged with his first offence for making umpire contact - deemed negligent by the MRP - with umpire Matthew Leppard during the third quarter of the game against the Eagles.
The charge carries with it a $1200 sanction, reduced by twenty-five percent to $900 with an early guilty plea.
His teammate Jay Schulz was cleared of any wrong doing in an incident with Eagle Luke Shuey during the same quarter.
Schulz was deemed to have executed a pushing motion on Shuey, as opposed to striking the Eagles player. No further action was taken by the MRP.
Meanwhile, West Coast midfielder Daniel Kerr has been offered a reprimand for striking Chad Wingard during the second quarter of Sunday's clash.
