THE Port Adelaide Football Club will give two youngsters the opportunity to debut at the home of football.

Online Game Day: Power vs Hawks

Both Tom Jonas and John Butcher will pull on the Power guernsey for the first time when the side takes on Hawthorn at the MCG on Saturday afternoon from 2.10pm Melbourne-time.

Team Announcement

Jonas was recruited by the Power after the athletic defender performed well for Norwood in 2010. A reliable and disciplined player who can play on a variety of players, he was selected as a rookie and has had to overcome ruptured thumb ligaments that required surgery after showing promising form for the Redlegs earlier in 2011.

Butcher was the first pick in the 2009 National Draft - pick eight overall - and spent most of 2010 in the medical rooms as he recovered from stress fractures in his back.

The club took a conservative approach to his recovery, with the key forward returning through the SANFL reserves in Round 18 before making his league debut for the Magpies later in the season.

His impressive preseason was rewarded with an early showing in the NAB Cup in 2011, and he has played well for the Magpies when fit, which following his recovery from a hamstring injury has culminated in him making the selected side to take on the Hawks.
