PORT ADELAIDE ruckman Scott Lycett and forward Zak Butters have escaped suspension over separate rough conduct charges during the Power’s loss to Brisbane on Saturday night.

Lycett was cited for his high bump on the Lions’ Mitch Robinson during the fourth quarter of the game at the Gabba.

Based on the available evidence, the incident was assessed as Careless Conduct with Low Impact and High Contact. The incident was classified as a $3000 sanction as a first offence.

Lycett can accept a $2000 sanction with an early plea, meaning he is free to take on Richmond at Adelaide Oval on Saturday evening.

Butters was also charged with rough conduct over his clash with Brisbane’s Hugh McCluggage in the second quarter of the same match.

Based on the available evidence, the incident was assessed as Careless Conduct with Low Impact and High Contact. The incident was classified as a $3000 sanction as a first offence but he can accept a $2000 sanction with an early plea.

The Match Review Officer also assessed contact between McCluggage and Port Adelaide’s Tom Rockliff in the third quarter of Saturday’s match in the incident which saw Rockliff come off with concussion.

Rockliff was tracking the ball on the half back flank, before going to ground as he gathered the ball.

McCluggage approached from the opposite direction to contest the ball.

Rockliff was then pushed by Charlie Cameron into the path of McCluggage.

It was the view of the MRO that McCluggage’s actions were not unreasonable in the circumstances and no further action has been taken.
