TRAVIS Boak says that his family fully supports his playing career continuing at Alberton, but that he will not be moved on the timeframe he set for contract negotiations.

Boak told the media at the club’s launch of its new Power To End Hunger partnership with Foodbank that he is enjoying his football at Port Adelaide and that he hopes to continue his career with the Power.

Despite conjecture about whether he will sign, Boak says his relationship with his family - not money - is key to his negotiations with the club.

“It’s a pretty similar situation (to the last time he re-signed) and when the time comes around I’ll talk to my family and make sure they’re happy and that’s what I’m going through right now,” said Boak.

“I’ll do that in the mid-season break.”

Port Adelaide has three games prior to the mid-season bye, with Boak set to feature prominently after a 3 goal, 28 possession performance against the Gold Coast last weekend - heralding a return to the form that saw him take out last year’s John Cahill Medal.

Boak said he is committed to the process he himself set out to undertake at the beginning of 2012 and will head home to Torquay to discuss his contract with his family in mid-June.

“At the start of the year my manager and myself spoke to Rohdey [General Manager - football, Peter Rohde] and said that I’ll talk to my family mid-season break and we’ll just go from there.

“What I said at the start of the year about being happy at the club and loving the club - that hasn’t changed at all - so it’s tracking along where we set out at the start of the year.”
