The Power’s mixed selection fortunes come as the club looks to build on its successful start to the 2012 season, having beaten St Kilda on Sunday.

Port Adelaide general manager - football Peter Rohde said Trengove had proved his fitness at training on Thursday.
“Jackson has been able to run all the way through obviously,” Rohde told PortAdelaideFC.com.au
“Today was the test in terms of handling the ball. We put that off as long as possible so his hand had as long as possible to heal, but he trained very confidently with it today.
“He was pretty keen in himself to play last week, but we held him back for a week. It’s time to let him go.”
Butcher appeared proppy early in the Round 1 game against the Saints, but played the game out comfortably and kicked two important goals.
“He probably got better as the game went along and he was able to play no worries,” Rohde said.
“But he’s still got some soreness there and I think it’d be risky to put him out and ask him to play another game on it. He hasn’t been able to train very much so we’d prefer to give him a week off and let it ease.”

Trengove’s return as a tall defender will release opportunities for others to fill the void forward.
“Jackson gives us another tall option down back obviously against Essendon who are likely to go with three tall forwards at different times,” Rohde said.
“He’s got some flexibility and can go forward and ruck as well. It just gives us more flexibility.”
It’s hoped Butcher will miss only the one game, with his absence leaving Jay Schulz, Justin Westhoff and Daniel Stewart as the forward targets.
“We’ve still got plenty of talls,” Rohde said.
“Arguably we had a very tall forward line last week and probably a fairly short backline. So it’s the other way around this week, but we’ve got players with flexibility.”

Otherwise, the Power side remains unchanged from the team that beat St Kilda by four points in Round 1.
Forward/midfielder Robbie Gray misses another week as he overcomes hamstring soreness.
“Robbie’s training and on the way back but he probably hadn’t had enough work to put him out in the game so he’ll train over the weekend and we’re very confident that he’ll be right for next week.”
