Power Football Operations Manager Peter Rohde has declared that if Daniel Motlop is to leave Port Adelaide then a decision will need to be made today on the enigmatic Power forward’s future.
“There is interest - and (today) is D-Day with Daniel,” Rohde was reported as saying in The Advertiser.
Interest has arisen from Victorian-based clubs, with speculation mounting that any trade secured for Motlop could have an effect on a mooted deal for West Coast youngster Brad Ebert, the son of former Port Adelaide and West Adelaide player Craig Ebert, and cousin of current Power player Brett Ebert.
However, Rohde was quoted as affirming that if Motlop does not leave Port Adelaide, he’ll still be an important player for the Power in 2011.
“If he stays with us, he will have a good year while he is in the last year of his contract,” Rohde said.
Meanwhile, AFL.com.au’s Trade Week Radio has declared that Andrew Walker has expressed interest in joining the Power, but is happy to remain at Carlton if no deal comes to fruition before Monday’s deadline.
