Motlop to miss but Tredrea on trackExciting forward Daniel Motlop will miss up to three weeks with a sprained ankle, Port Adelaide announced on Monday. But captain Warren Tredrea is on the verge of a return.Motlop, who single-handedly kept the Power in the game in the in the first quarter by kicking three goals, was dealt another cruel blow to his injury interrupted career when his ankle rolled over on him early in the second term. The club has assessed the injury as a bad sprain that will keep him out for the next two or three weeks. It has been cleared of any structural damage.Tredrea last played for the Power in Round 15 last year and has been on the club’s injury list as ‘ongoing assessment’ ever since – the club never able to put an exact timeline on his return. But that changed on Monday when the skipper was given a strong chance of returning to football this weekend. He is listed as ‘test’ on the latest injury list. There is no word as to whether he would be selected for the Power if passed fit this week or given a game at his SANFL club, the Port Adelaide Magpies.Peter Burgoyne and Josh Mahoney also look likely to be right for this weekend, having missed the win over the Dockers with thigh and ankle injuries respectively. It will make it another tough time at selection for the Power hierarchy who last week were forced to leave out players like Brad Symes and Adam Thomson who made themselves regulars during last season. Saturday’s stirring come-from-behind win won’t make it any easier to leave anyone out this weekend. The club’s top draft pick last year, Travis Boak, has been added to the injury list after sustaining a minor hip complaint at training last week. The Power’s injury list for the week beginning Monday 2 April, is as follows...Peter Burgoyne, thigh (14 March) – test Travis Boak, hip (26 March) – test Josh Mahoney, ankle (NAB Challenge Week 4) – test Daniel Motlop, ankle (Round 1) – 2-3 weeks Warren Tredrea, knee (surgery 2006) – test
Power coach Mark Williams truly enjoyed the win against Fremantle, believing it was one of the club’s best. For those that saw him, he was pretty emotional stra
