MARK WILLIAMS: He did some good things Emma. Over the last four or five weeks he has improved in each game which is always pleasing to see. He probably got his opportunity because Steven Salopek has been out so that has been great for his development and also for the development of the long term future of the club. I was rapt to see him kick a goal and see the enjoyment the players around him got out of seeing him kick his first goal.---Mark, well done on getting us back in the top 4 at the moment. A great recovery since the losses mid season. I thought Adam Thomson was unlucky to miss out. Against West Coast he got plenty of ball, used it well, kicked goals, but more importantly did all the little things. He chased, bumped, tackled and shepherded, all day. I thought he epitomised what Port Adelaide are all about. I hope he comes straight back in this week, should be ahead of a couple of others in the pecking order IMO. Thanks for listening

MARK WILLIAMS: Yeah we fought with that decision (to bring Chaplin in for Thomson as a late change) for a long, long time. Richmond had quite a few tall players, they brought two tall players in from their extended interchange bench so it meant that if we had a tall backman get injured we would have been in real strife, keeping in mind that Richo can kick a lot of goals. So we thought we’d do the right thing. Adam was advised early on Sunday morning. It wasn’t an easy thing for him to miss out but he handled it really well. And I agree he did play really well against West Coast so we hope he gets another game soon.

MARK WILLIAMS: Well, the reaction was certainly overstated! I was looking for Michael Wilson, I think, to kick out and he threw it to someone else to kick out. That was all I was carrying on about. I looked at it after the game and I thought it was quite amusing! So there’s not too big a mystery about it, certainly it was a huge overreaction!---We have read about the young guys at the club recently but the cream rose to the top with our experience players today. Coach and assistant coaches well done

MARK WILLIAMS: Thank you very much. I thought our experienced players played very well. I thought they led from the front and obviously it gives the younger players a much easier platform to perform on if the older players are playing better.
