Port Adelaide could welcome a number of players back to the fold against the Lions at AAMI Stadium on Saturday.

Port Adelaide

Headlining the list of possible inclusions is vice captain Travis Boak who will be evaluated at training ahead of Thursday night’s team selection.

Boak was a late withdrawal from the Power’s 42-point loss to the Eagles with a corked hip but is expected to return against Brisbane this weekend.

Also awaiting clearance to return from injury will be youngsters Jasper Pittard and Jarrad Redden.

Pittard returned last weekend from the injury he sustained in Round 17 but injured his adductors playing for Sturt in the SANFL while attempting a tackle on a Glenelg opponent.

Redden damaged a toe flexor at training and similarly will look to be cleared with head fitness coach Cam Falloon saying he would be every chance to be considered having had a one-game rest.

Paul Stewart will be considered to play despite having left the ground with concussion in last week’s game.

Assuming Stewart is cleared fit to play, there is only one forced change required with midfielder Andrew Moore out with a hamstring injury.

Of those hitting form in the SANFL, Steven Salopek is the best-placed candidate to receive a call up to the Power side.

Salopek has spent the majority of the year finding form in the state league and was impeded in his development mid year when aligned side Glenelg dropped him to the Reserves.

A transfer to Port Adelaide’s SANFL side has seen Salopek hit solid form in the SANFL League competition, culminating in a best on ground performance for the Magpies against Woodville-West Torrens last Saturday.

Tom Logan will also be considered for selection in what would be his 100th club game having been omitted from the side that played last Sunday.

Brisbane Lions

Matt McGuire is likely to miss this weekend’s game against the Power with an ankle injury.

He originally suffered the injury against West Coast in Round 18 and was substituted from last week’s win over the Crows in the second term.

None of the Lions injured players are likely to return to the side, paving the way from one of Brisbane’s reserves side to be named on Thursday night.

Patrick Karnezis booted four goals for the reserves while the experienced Cheynee Stiller had 32 touches and 8 inside 50s to be best on ground, with both players tipped to come under consideration for senior selection.

Don't expect too many changes at the selection table for the Lions after their rousing victory over the Crows on Saturday night.

The Lions will travel to Adelaide on Thursday.
