PORT Adelaide has added five players to its squad ahead of this week’s big clash against Carlton at AAMI Stadium.

Into the 25 man squad for Sunday’s Blues game come Peter Burgoyne, Josh Carr, Brett Ebert, Steven Salopek and Paul Stewart. All five have been named on an extended interchange bench.

Out of the 22 which lost to Fremantle last Sunday are Jason Davenport (adductor) and Nick Salter (omitted).

If selected Carr will play his 200th AFL match (117 Port Adelaide, 83 Fremantle). Carr, Ebert, Salopek and Burgoyne have all played multiple weeks in the SANFL competition.

Football Operations Manager Peter Rohde says the Power has added experience and flexibility to the selection options.

“With Peter Burgoyne, Josh Carr, Steven Salopek and Brett Ebert we have different options to consider over the next 24 hours,” Rohde says.

“All have shown some form in the SANFL, as has Paul Stewart for much of the year.

“Jason Davenport will miss one or two weeks with a strained adductor, which is a shame for him as he was settling nicely into his role.”
