IT’S getting beyond a joke now. Boaky, who doesn’t even follow the game as closely as me, has beaten me six out of six so far this year.

I thought Gray’s Greats’ score of 1952 in Round 6 might have just been enough to get me across the line and get me out of cooking duties on Monday night. But I asked Boaky his score on Monday morning and he gloated about his 2080. One bonus for the week was that I outscored him on the field with 120 to his 94 - little consolation I know.

With 15 trades left, I was tempted to swing the axe, but I’m taking a patient approach with the Greats and I’m holding on to my trades.

For those of you out there who aren’t as patient as me, here’s a bit of food for thought.

Boaky wrote last week it was all about downgrading your backs, this week it’s all about your forwards. You’ve got four genuine options.

Jarrad Grant from the Western Bulldogs is ‘on the bubble’ having played two games averaging 75. His price will jump after his third game - and it should jump sharply with a breakeven of -78.

The other bloke on the bubble is Nat Fyfe from Fremantle. He’s got a breakeven of -60 and should have some pretty good job security in a young Dockers’ side. He looks raw but he can certainly play and he was very close to sliding his way into my team for the underperforming Leon Davis. But I’m going to stick with Davis because I know what he’s capable of.

The other two options aren’t as attractive for the simple fact they haven’t played two games. Gary Rohan, who will debut this weekend for Sydney, and Matthew Jaensch, who debuted against us in the Showdown, have both shown they’ve got some talent and will hopefully play a few games for their respective teams. Your best bet is to wait until they’ve played two games before you jump on them - unless of course you have a pressing need this week.

If all this thinking about trade thoughts is giving you a headache, take some solace in the fact Gary Ablett will return for Geelong this weekend. Straight back in as captain…

Congratulations to Michael Taylor whose team Port Magpies topped the rankings for Round 6 with a massive score of 2,267. That score ranked him 185th nationally for the week - not bad! Michael will receive a week’s worth of pizza thanks to Pizza Hut.
