Port Adelaide is proud to join Greater Western Sydney in launching our AFL rivalry through the Transfield Services Diversity Shield.

The Power and the Giants will compete for the shield annually - beginning with their inaugural match at Skoda Stadium on Saturday 4 August 2012 - as a celebration of the diversity and passion of both clubs’ wider communities.

Throughout its 142-year history, Port Adelaide has been a community-focused club and in 2012 it continues to build on that commitment through initiatives including its Power to End Hunger campaign with joint major partner Foodbank.

Transfield Services shares Port Adelaide’s dedication, serving as a support partner in our mission to provide food to hungry Australians. Its sponsorship of the Diversity Shield will directly benefit Foodbank in its effort to source, store and supply food to hundreds of charities and welfare organisations that help the needy.

Transfield Services is also as a support partner in another of Port Adelaide’s major community-targeted efforts, the annual Aboriginal Power Cup.

Port Adelaide is honoured to join with Transfield Services and the AFL’s newest team in highlighting the diversity of our communities and the role our clubs play in engaging, promoting and supporting so many people.
