After beginning his career at Richmond, Rodan was drafted in the 2006 National draft at pick number 86. His debut for Port Adelaide came in round 1, 2007, against Fremantle at Subiaco. He won the Morrish Medal for the best player in the underage TAC Cup competition in 2001 and 2002, and was elected the PAFC Most Improved Player in 2007.
