Port Adelaide sharp-shooter Jay Schulz has been declared a 90 per cent chance of playing in Sunday’s twilight clash with Hawthorn at AAMI Stadium.

Schulz has been in doubt since bruising his ribs in last Saturday’s victory over Carlton and being substituted out of the game before undergoing scans which cleared him of any fracture.

The 27-year-old - who has kicked 22 goals in eight games to be the Power's leading scorer this season - moved easily during training at Alberton on Saturday.

Midfield coach Shaun Rehn raised confidence in Schulz taking his place in the line-up as Port Adelaide chases four wins in a row for the first time since 2007.

“I think he’s about 90 per cent in regards to playing,” Rehn declared ahead of the final session before Sunday’s game.

“He moved around really well during the week and he’ll move even better today. We think he’s pretty well over the line.”

The strong-marking forward has been accurate in 2012, kicking 22 goals and nine behinds. He booted seven goals straight in the Power’s come from behind win over North Melbourne in Round 8 and had scored three majors without a miss before being taken from the ground against Carlton.

Port Adelaide hasn’t lost since Schulz returned from a serious eye injury three weeks ago and has proved a vital target as the Power midfielders have more confidently moved the ball forward.

“He’s a really important part of our structure so we’re hoping he moves through no problems,” Rehn said.

Port Adelaide faces its toughest challenge yet in tackling the Hawks, who crushed North Melbourne last week and come into the game with a six-four win-loss record.

“I’ve enjoyed watching them play over the period and I think Hawthorn is team that everyone admires for their skill level and the way they play the game so I’m really looking forward to it,” Rehn said.

Port Adelaide and Hawthorn clash at 4.10pm on Sunday with the twilight game coming on the eve of the Queen’s Birthday holiday Monday.
