Speaking to Triple M after the game, the Port Adelaide midfielder attributed the victory to a consistent performance from the team across the game and was confident they could continue their good run of form.

“I suppose when you get 22 blokes putting in a team effort you get a result like that, and we played four quarters of good footy and now we can feed it to next week,” Broadbent told Triple M.

Broadbent was also full of praise for returning young ruckman Jarrad Redden, who amassed 15 hitouts on his first game back in the side since round 3 against Sydney.

“It was good to have Reddo back this week, he’s sort of not had the opportunity and he came in with Renouf to really work well together,” he said.

The win against Carlton marked Port’s third victory in a row, and fourth of the season.

Broadbent himself has significantly improved this season and was one of the Power’s best with 31 disposals and two goals.

The midfielder has been averaging career highs in disposals, clearances and goals this season and has been in blistering form the last three weeks, playing a major part in Port’s return to winning ways.

Broadbent will be hoping his good form can continue when the Power chase their fourth win in a row against Hawthorn at AAMI Stadium next Sunday afternoon.
