Macca’s Top 5
Jay Schulz
SCHUUULLZZZYYY. He's near on unstoppable when he's in that sort of form. Marked everything in sight, kicked the house down, did everything he could out there. Was great to hear the schulzy chant go around the ground. He deserves it. A wonderful player, a wonderful team player. His best game and best on ground.
Ollie Wines
Is that his best game of football? Would have to go close. I’m almost speechless in what we can expect in the future when he develops further. For someone so young and inexperienced he just plays at such a high level. Was an absolute monster around the packs today and just had clearance after clearance. Thought his ball usage was better than normal and just continuously found his team mates. Clearly loves these wet, contested games. Was another that was unlucky not to be best on ground.
Matthew Broadbent
Thought he was absolutely fantastic and one of his best games of the year. I'm keen to hear what others thought of his game but I thought he was nearly unpassable across half back. Just forever seemed to be in the right place at the right time to cut off the opposition attacks and thought he used the ball exceptionally well. Really took the game on used his pace to advantage. So close to best on ground for mine.
Matt Lobbe
Fantastic ruckwork and constantly found our players with the ball. The tenacious Lobbe was back, doing a lot of the grunt work around the ball. It wasn’t a match that he could do much around the ground, but he didn’t really need to.
Kane Cornes
In stunning form at the moment. Another ripper defensive job on one of the form players in the competition. Seemed to start more on Griffen until he went down then just killed Liberatore around the packs and around the ground. Libba got some touches late but that was his most ineffective game of the year. When will Kane start to slow down? Forever young!
