PORT Adelaide Football Club members are being offered exclusive discounted fares and travel packages on Australia’s great train journeys, helping them to follow their team interstate.

The Power is proud to welcome Great Southern Rail - operator of The Ghan, Indian Pacific and The Overland train services - as its newest Key Partner, further expanding our network of corporate sponsors.

The partnership brings significant advantages for both organisations and importantly delivers direct benefits to the Power’s 36,000 members.

Port Adelaide Corporate Partners and Capability Manager Evan Arnold said the Club was proud to have formed a relationship with such an iconic organisation.

“Great Southern Rail operates some of the most amazing train journeys in the world. It’s wonderful to have them with the Port Adelaide Football Club on our journey towards success,” Mr Arnold said.

“It’s an especially good fit given those Great Southern Rail services operate between Adelaide and Darwin, Perth, Sydney and Melbourne where Port Adelaide regularly plays AFL games.”

The partnership was sealed ahead of the Power’s clash with Richmond at Darwin’s TIO Stadium this Saturday night, as the club continues to build its long-term partnership with the Northern Territory.

As part of the arrangement, Great Southern Rail is offering exclusive discounted packages and fares to Port Adelaide Members. They apply to travel on The Ghan, Indian Pacific and The Overland, giving Members an opportunity to enjoy a unique travel experience as they watch their team play in Darwin, Perth and Melbourne.

The Club urges Members to consider travelling by train to its upcoming interstate matches.

The special fares aboard the Indian Pacific are an ideal way to join the team in Perth when the Power takes on West Coast at Patersons Stadium on Sunday June 19th. Or take The Ghan to Darwin for our second Top End game in 2011: the Round 17 clash with Melbourne on Saturday July 16th.

Later in the season offers will be extended to the The Overland, providing an alternative for travel to Melbourne for the Round 21 game against Hawthorn at the MCG and the Round 23 encounter with Essendon at Etihad Stadium.

Great Southern Rail Chief Executive Tony Braxton-Smith said: “Great Southern Rail are proud of its new association with the Power and look forward to seeing more members aboard The Ghan, the Indian Pacific and The Overland travelling to interstate matches.”

Members will find full details of these offers here.
