Team Boak In A Cakewalk
ROBBIE has been up and about over the past couple of weeks, but this week I put him well and truly back in his place
430 points. Yep, 430 points is what I beat him by this week. Team Boak was up and about with a handy score of 2073 to smash Gray’s Greats paltry score of 1643. That’ll teach him to talk up his game - you have to back it up with the scores Robbie…consistently! 7 wins and 2 losses for the season now…
I’ve been hit by a couple of injuries and omissions this week, but I’ve got cover so I don’t think I’ll be trading - especially considering I’m still cruising along scoring 2000+! But for those of you keen to pull the trigger on a couple of trades, you’ve got a plethora of options in the coming weeks. I’ll run through this options, breaking them down by the week they’re on the bubble (about to rise in price).
This week:
Tony Armstrong from the Crows is very much ‘on the bubble’ coming off a 123 in his last game. He’s named this week and his price should skyrocket. Not a bad option in the midfield, but I do worry about his job security with Vince and co still to come back.
Henry Playfair is a mature-age forward rookie from Sydney who should get a few more games over the next three weeks with Daniel Bradshaw out.
No. 1 Draft Pick Jack Watts is also on the bubble this week and at $145,000 he’s a fairly enticing option. He looked sharp on the weekend in Darwin and should play the rest of the year if he stays fit.
Next week:
Daniel Stewart is your man if you’re looking for a forward downgrade option in the next two weeks. At just $89,500 he’s a bargain and he should play a few games with Tredders on the long-term injury list. I know Robbie has jumped on, so get on board - I’ll try to hit him on the lead a few times!
Sydney’s Campbell Heath looked composed on the weekend and with so few defensive rookie options, he may be a good pick-up coming off the back of a 77 last week.
Nathan O’Keefe is another who has played just one game and looked reasonably comfortable at AFL level. He’s big and he leads up well and at just $94,500 he could make you some cash.
Two weeks:
There are a few players possibly making their debuts this week. Unless you’re desperate for a trade this week, I’d sit back and watch them for a week or two before pouncing. Look out for Richmond’s Ben Griffiths and Sydney’s Trent Dennis-Lane in the forward line, Melbourne’s first round pick Jordan Gysberts and North’s Brayden Norris in the midfield and Carlton’s Marcus Davies in defence.
Before I go, a late rumour doing the circles is that Fremantle’s Michael Barlow is in doubt with the flu. Not sure how reliable it is, but make of it what you will!
Congratulations to Marcus Allen whose team Alloony got the highest score in the Official Pizza Hut Power Dream Team Group this week with a score of 2,243. Marcus will be digging in to a week’s worth of free pizza thanks to Pizza Hut!
