ST KILDA will have to navigate a five-day break and injury to big man Josh Battle ahead of Saturday night’s clash with Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.
The Saints, who played at the same venue against the Crows on Monday night, will return full of confidence after enjoying their first victory there at the eleventh attempt.
It’s been two years since they played against Port Adelaide in South Australia and that time it was the Power which set the early running and was never headed in a 36-point win.
Utility Battle, who plays at either end of the ground or as a back-up ruckman, is in doubt for Saturday’s clash after suffering a concussion in the second quarter of the Saints’ win over Adelaide on Monday night and failing to return to the field.
The tight turn around might make it hard for him to push his case to feature against the Power.
If he misses, it would open the door for Jonathon Marsh to return to the side after his omission but Jack Sinclair would be hopeful of being called up for his first game of 2020 after being an emergency on Monday for the seventh consecutive week.
Jack Bytel, Shane Savage and Nick Hind are also in contention after also making the initial 26-man squad for the Crows game.
St Kilda will name its side on Thursday night for Saturday’s big game against Port.
