PORT ADELAIDE will be without forward Todd Marshall for Thursday night’s game against Melbourne after he suffered a thumb injury on the weekend.
Marshall broke the thumb on his right hand during Saturday night’s loss to St Kilda and had surgery on Sunday.
The 21 year-old is expected to be sidelined for six weeks.
Defender Trent McKenzie is a chance to return to the side after being a late withdrawal from Saturday night’s game due to back spasms, but will need to prove his fitness in the coming days.
Fellow defender Riley Bonner will also be tested during the week after suffering a hip contusion from a heavy collision late in the match, but is expected to be available, while ruckman Scott Lycett is another who will undergo a fitness test, to determine if he has overcome a knee injury which has kept him out of the last two matches.
The club will on Wednesday evening name its side for the game against Melbourne at the Gabba.
