PORT ADELAIDE midfielder Sam Powell-Pepper could miss his side’s game against Sydney next week after being sanctioned by the Match Review Officer.
Powell-Pepper has been charged with engaging in rough conduct for a tackle he applied to Hawthorn’s Ben McEvoy during the last quarter of Port’s win over the Hawks on Saturday evening.
On the available evidence the incident was assessed as careless with high contact and medium impact.
Powell-Pepper has been offered a one-match sanction with an early plea and has until Monday to consider a challenge.
Forward Charlie Dixon was among six other players to be fined from the same game.
He was firstly charged with misconduct against Hawk Ben Stratton during the second quarter and offered a $500 fine.
He was then offered another $500 fine for engaging in a melee, with Port’s Zak Butters and Hawks Liam Shiels, Blake Hardwick and James Worpel all offered similar fines for allegedly taking part in the melee in the second quarter.
Port vice-captain Hamish Hartlett was also offered a $1000 fine with an early plea for forceful front-on contact against Shiels in the first quarter.
Shiels was awarded a free kick but left the field after the incident, only to return and see out the match.
The incident was assessed as careless conduct, low impact and high contact.
