Port Adelaide has a strong connection to the Defence Forces, dating back to World War One.

REMEMBERANCE DAY provides an opportunity to pause and remember those who have served our nation in the armed forces.

The Port Adelaide Football Club’s association with Australia’s armed forces has been long and proud with a large number of players and officials having enlisted to serve abroad in the defence of empire and nation since World War One in 1914.

A list of the club’s known servicemen appears below but the club welcomes any information from family members regarding former players and officials who have served the Australian forces abroad.

Port Adelaide works closely with the Australian Defence Force to run the Power to be Positive wellbeing and resilience program to the children of those who are currently serving.

The program is based on core wellbeing philosophies and practices used by the Port Adelaide players, building on the similar experiences they have, including relocation.

As well as the program, ADF families are invited to an annual Family Event along with the opportunity to attend the ANZAC Round game at Adelaide Oval to meet players and form the guard of honour on the field.

The club also supports the ANZAC Appeal to help the RSL tailor specialist services for current and former service men and women, and their families.
