ANGUS MONFRIES and Jackson Trengove will return to Port Adelaide's line-up in Friday night's blockbuster at the Adelaide Oval.

They replace the men who replaced them in the team that defeated Gold Coast by nine points last Saturday - Aaron Young and Tom Logan.

Hamish Hartlett has been cleared to play after rolling his ankle against the Suns and remains in the Power's team for the match against the Blues.

Despite being suggested for a return against Glenelg by the senior coach on Wednesday, Campbell Heath will need to wait at least one more week after being left out of the Magpies line-up this weekend.

He is the only currently injured player capable of returning to football this year, with Sam Colquhoun, Brent Renouf and Jarrad Redden still in long-term recovery from knee surgery.

It's a position Ken Hinkley is pleased to be in in mid-August.

"Both Monfries and Trengove had been a little bit unlucky to miss last week - Jackson having his ankle stepped on at training during the week, and Gus was going to play right up until the minute before the first bounce, unfortunately his hip flexor wasn't responding," Hinkley told portadelaidefc.com.au.

"The boys they're replacing [Young and Logan] played their roles really well, but unfortunately when you've got quality guys coming back in, it makes it tough to keep your spot.

"Neither of the boys did themselves any harm with their effort last week.

"Campbell Heath is an incredible story to be back in form by the end of the year and hopefully in line to play finals for the Maggies.

"Clearly your best chance of victory is when you've got your healthiest, fittest and the quality of your list up and playing.

"It's reflected across a few sides in the competition."

WEAR YOUR BLACK AND WHITE ON FRIDAY NIGHT

Despite a tough win against the Suns amid torrential downpours of up to 85 millimetres of rain, Ken Hinkley expects a strong team to run onto the field under lights on Friday night.

"We're really comfortable and confident the boys have come back in really good shape, albeit it was a pretty tough game!" Hinkley said.

But he expects his fit side to come up against one of the best-form clubs of the competition.

"Carlton's form, bar one or two other sides in the competition, would be one of the strongest,"

"Clearly they've had some issues with some key players early in the year, but they've been able to get them back - Juddy, Murphy and Gibbs are a formiddable midfield and Carrazzo and plenty of other names are very strong.

"They're having a great end to their season and they'll pose a really big challenge."
