Port Adelaide will return to the Parade for the first time since 2019 to face Norwood under lights in Round 1.

PORT ADELAIDE will take on bitter rival Norwood to kick off the 2021 SANFL Statewide Super League.

The sides will face off at Norwood Oval at 7:40pm on Thursday 1 April.

It will be Port Adelaide’s first game in the SANFL competition since the 2019 Grand Final, and the first time the sides will meet since Port’s 45-point win at Alberton in Round 10 that season.

The club was unable to participate in the 2020 SANFL season due to the restrictions imposed on it under the AFL’s COVID-19 protocols.

The visit to the Parade could mean new recruit Luke Surman may make his Port Adelaide debut against his old side.

The big forward/ruckman played 18 games for the Redlegs over the past three seasons after deciding to leave Hawthorn.

Among the other games in the Round 1 fixture released by the SANFL on Thursday night, South Adelaide will play the Crows, Central District will host North Adelaide, Glenelg will play West Adelaide and premiers Woodville-West Torrens will host Sturt.

All of those games will be played on Good Friday, 2 April with the Eagles v Double Blues game to be televised live on Channel 7.

The complete SANFL season fixture is expected to be released on Friday.
