PORT ADELAIDE captain Tom Jonas has given his tick of approval to the club’s new playing kit designed by technical apparel partner Macron.
The international sportswear brand worked closely with the club and players throughout 2020 on the design and it has now landed at Alberton ahead of the new season.
The training, game-day and off-field apparel range will be available at the Port Store and online next week.
The Partnership with Port Adelaide is Macron’s first foray into the AFL and the official on-field guernsey uses the exclusive Armevo fabric, designed to be durable, lightweight and body fitting, making it suitable for all weather conditions.
Jonas was on-hand to model the club’s new home guernsey on Friday and was full of praise for the subtle differences in material and design.
“It’s all pretty similar but there’s a nice touch of texture about the guernsey which is something a little bit different,” he told reporters during a press conference.
“It’s breathable, light-weight attire, which is what you want when you’re playing footy.
“You want to feel as light as possible, especially when you’re big and slow like me.”
The range includes both the home and clash guernseys along with black, white and the new coral coloured training guernseys.
Also on offer in the Port Store and online next week will be a range of other off field items such as hoodies, vests, puffer and wet weather jackets.
One of the new features of the guernseys is the club’s newly adopted logo on the lower back, while the texture and sleek cut are also popular with the players.
“It’s been great to wear,” Jonas said. “Perfect for the hot summer conditions.
“It’s great to have Macron on board and it’ll all be available online and in the Port Store as of next week.”
