WE’RE back at the footy!
On the surface it’s a statement that seems straight forward enough. Another pre-season has come to its gruelling end and a Round 1 clash with the Kangaroos is less than a week away.
To say the footy is back is just stating the obvious, right?
But delve a little deeper and Port Adelaide’s declaration that “We’re back at the footy” is something that holds much more weight for the club and its True Believers in 2021.
In 2020, football found a way.
Games behind closed doors. Home games in enemy territory. Whole clubs uprooted and introduced to ‘hub life’.
Port Adelaide’s players and coaches took on the challenge, as did the club’s members and supporters who backed their club in no matter the circumstances.
In 2021, the objective hasn’t changed at Alberton.
