PORT Adelaide is waiting for scans on Tuesday to reveal the extent of damage to skipper Dom Cassisi's forehead.

Cassisi was involved in a nasty clash of heads with Hawthorn tough-nut Jordan Lewis during the third quarter of Sunday’s fiery encounter at AAMI Stadium.

The gutsy West Australian was diagnosed with a mild concussion, but returned to the field with his head heavily bandaged to help lead his side to a stirring 18-point win.

Earlier this season Power draftee Mitch Banner, who has been likened to a young Cassisi, was sidelined for five weeks after suffering a similar sinus fracture.

It is not known whether Cassisi will be available for Port Adelaide this weekend.
