IT has been more than 600 days since Port Adelaide last played a game at home for SANFL premiership points but footy returns to Alberton Oval on Saturday and if you want to be there, there are some important things you need to know.
SA Health has confirmed Alberton can accommodate 75 per-cent of its capacity so 5,000 spectators will be allowed to attend to see the Magpies take on Central District.
After an enforced year out of the competition because of the impact of COVID-19 and the restrictions on the club’s participation in the SANFL, Matthew Lokan’s side will be out to get its first win of the season against the Dogs.
The game day will see the return of the half-time kick and catch on the oval and most of the surrounds open to spectators, but given the reduced capacity there will be some impact on ticketing arrangements.
Venue Manager – Licensed Venues and Magpies Marketing Manager, Linda Crabb said it was exciting to have the club back playing games at home.
“It's been 608 days since we last played a game at Alberton Oval for SANFL premiership points and we can't wait to get back out there!” she said while also warning of the COVID-19 protocols in place.
“Alberton Oval has an SA Health-approved COVID Management Plan permitting capacity of 5,000 spectators per game. Whilst game day should be relatively 'normal,' the reduced capacity will still have an impact on ticketing arrangements for home games in 2021.
“We look forward to welcoming our members and supporters back home for the 2021 SANFL season and encourage everyone to get there early and read up on our FAQs to avoid any disappointment.”

2021 SANFL Magpies members cans simply scan their membership card at the gate to gain entry, as can 2021 Essential Power members, however they are encouraged to arrive early because due to the reduced capacity, game access cannot be guaranteed.
Essential Power members can access four SANFL games throughout the season plus the SANFL finals series.
11-game Power Members with Reserved Seat and General Admission access can also attend SANFL games at Alberton Oval in 2021 but they will be required to activate their barcode for entry, essentially RSVPing their attendance.
They will need their account ID and the 12-digit barcode number on their membership card to activate their barcode.

Please only complete the request to activate your barcode if you can definitely attend the game.
The Port Store will be open from 10am so you can stock up on all the latest supporter gear and for the first time, club partner Pirate Life will have a tasting station outside the canteen on the outer side of the oval where you can sample its beers, including the popular South Coast Pale Ale.
As always, the Port Club will also be open during the game, although capacity is restricted and patrons are advised to be mindful of the renovations currently underway.
Port Adelaide will take on Central District at Alberton Oval on Saturday from 2:10pm.
Gates open at 12:40pm.
