PORT ADELAIDE assistant coaches Michael Voss and Chad Cornes have agreed to contract extensions to remain at Port Adelaide, while fellow assistant coaches Matthew Nicks and Aaron Greaves will depart Alberton at season’s end.
Voss joined Port Adelaide in 2015 as midfield coach and has extended his contract for a further two years.
Cornes, who enjoyed a decorated playing career at the Power and coached the Magpies in the SANFL in 2016 and 2017, will continue in his development role.
Nicks reached a mutual decision with Port Adelaide to pursue other opportunities at the end of the club’s 2018 campaign while Greaves has made the decision to head back to his home State of Victoria.
Nicks joined Port Adelaide in 2011 spending two years as development coach before becoming an assistant coach in 2013. He has spent the last two seasons’ as senior assistant to coach Ken Hinkley.
Greaves is currently Port Adelaide’s head of football development, a position he has held for the past two seasons. Greaves joined Port Adelaide in 2014 as midfield development and ruck coach in 2014.
Port Adelaide general manager – football Chris Davies thanked both Nicks and Greaves and said they both remain committed to Port Adelaide’s 2018 campaign.
“Firstly, I thank Matthew and Aaron for what they have contributed to the Port Adelaide Football Club,” Davies said.
“The role of an AFL assistant coach is extremely demanding and both Matthew and Aaron have given their all to their respective roles and improved our football program.
“Matthew is looking to increase the breadth of his experience at another club and at the same time, we are mindful of the importance of introducing new coaches into our own program to generate new ideas and coaching philosophies.
“Aaron is committed to his family returning to Victoria.

Similarly, Greaves thanked Port Adelaide for the opportunity and support.
