THE fans have spoken, giving Tom Clurey their vote as best on ground in the Port Adelaide’s 49-point Showdown XLIX win.
Clurey was handed the task of looking after an in-form Taylor Walker on Saturday night, and he did just that, keeping the dangerous Crow goalless and to just six disposals.
The 27-year old defender also found 17 disposals for himself, including 10 intercepts and seven marks.
Earning the maximum five votes for Round 8 puts Clurey into the top 10 in the Fans MG MVP leaderboard.
Showdown medallist Travis Boak finished runner up in the fans vote.
After a week off managing a quad injury, Boak picked up where he left off having yet another influential game with 28 disposals, six clearances, three marks, three tackles and seven score involvements. The ageless midfielder is yet to record less than 25 touches in a game in 2021.
Rounding out the votes this week were Aliir Aliir (3rd), Scott Lycett (4th) and Mitch Georgiades (5th).
This week the Power host the Bulldogs at Adelaide Oval in a Saturday night blockbuster.
