Ollie Wines is Port Adelaide's leading vote getter in the AFLCA votes.

PORT ADELAIDE vice-captain Ollie Wines has slipped down the rankings in the AFL Coaches Association AFL Champion Player of the Year Award after Thursday night’s loss to Melbourne.

Wines had been six votes off the lead after scoring the maximum ten votes last week but didn’t poll with the coaches this week despite recording an equal game-high 33 disposals along with five clearances and a goal against the Dees.

Melbourne took a clean sweep of the votes along with the four points from Adelaide Oval with Christian Petracca’s starring performance seeing him score the perfect ten votes.

Others to poll included Clayton Oliver (eight votes), Tom McDonald (six), Steven May (two), Max Gawn (two), Kysaiah Pickett (one) and Christian Salem (one).

Oliver’s eight votes sees him leapfrog Western Bulldog Marcus Bontempelli into outright leadership in the coaches’ award while Gold Coast’s Touk Miller has leapt into equal second after a best on ground showing in his side’s win over Greater Western Sydney.

Along with Petracca and Miller, Essendon’s Zach Merrett, Fremantle’s Sean Darcy, Carlton’s Sam Walsh, St Kilda’s Jack Steele, Sydney’s Jordan Dawson and Collingwood’s Taylor Adams each received the perfect ten votes in Round 17.

More votes for Round 17 are to follow after the conclusion of Monday night’s game between West Coast and North Melbourne.
