PORT ADELAIDE will open its 2022 AFL Premiership Season in Brisbane when it takes on the Lions in a Saturday night blockbuster.
The Power’s season opener will be played at the Gabba on March 19 at 7:10pm local time (7.40pm SA time).
It’s only the second time Port Adelaide has played Brisbane in the season opener, with the first back in 2001 when the Power hosted the Lions at Football Park.
Port Adelaide has played Brisbane on 39 occasions, with the Power winning 18, the Lions 19 and two draws.
Both clubs have a long rivalry dating back to the early 2000s when Port Adelaide defeated Brisbane in 2004 to win their first AFL premiership.
