THE PORT ADELAIDE FOOTBALL CLUB has recently partnered with consulting company Metisphere to assist in achieving successful cultural integration of AFLW into the club.

The partnership plays an important role in the club’s dedication to successfully integrate its new AFLW program to create one club, with one united voice and one common purpose – to win premierships.

Metisphere is made up of a group of globally renowned organisational psychologists and organisational development consultants that assist businesses to create people-focused strategic solutions that enables high performance.

By engaging with Metisphere, the club is aiming to accelerate the cultural integration of AFLW whilst paying homage to the club’s 152 years of history, focusing on elements such as a diversity and inclusion strategy, design and behavioural interventions, mental health and wellbeing in the workplace and more.

The Managing Director at Metisphere, Dr Ali Burston, said it was an honour to support the club on its cultural integration journey.

“Metisphere are excited to partner with Port Adelaide in the biggest transformation in its 152-year history, and what a fitting day to announce the partnership, on International Women’s Day” said Dr Burston.

“We feel honoured to be working with the entire club to break any unconscious bias that may exist, and create a progressive and inclusive culture that embraces diversity, performance, and community to assist Port Adelaide in achieving its strategic vision.

“Culture is a very strong predictor of performance and strategic achievement, and we look forward to supporting the club on its cultural integration journey.”

Metisphere’s primary focus will be integrating the new AFLW program into the club, using organisational psychology evidence-based methodologies to create an AFLW Cultural Integration Plan.

Some of these evidence-based interventions include bespoke cultural integration and diversity training, executive leadership coaching and evaluation methods to gauge knowledge transfer and cultural progression to achieve positive and sustainable behavioural change aligned with our strategic vision.

The entire club, including the Board, AFLW Steering Committee, players, coaches and administration staff will be involved in the training and coaching.

Port Adelaide director and chair of the club’s AFLW Steering Committee, Holly Ransom says partnering with Metisphere will help set up the club’s next era of success both on and off the field.

"The launch of the club’s AFLW team is arguably the biggest cultural change the club has undergone in its 152-year history,” Ransom said.

“It's exciting but as with any successful change initiatives, it doesn't happen by accident - it takes data, planning, expertise, education and training to deliver successful and sustained outcomes.

“We're thrilled to be partnering with Metisphere and having the benefit of their industry-leading expertise to set our club up for our next era of success, on-field and off-field.”
