PORT ADELAIDE forward Sam Gray has undergone surgery to rectify an ongoing ankle injury.
The 26-year-old had a period of rest in the post-season but didn’t recover sufficiently from an ankle complaint and therefore had an arthroscopy on his right ankle.
His training will be limited until the Christmas break but he is expected to be back in full training in the new year and available to play in the JLT Community Series.
Gray played 19 games in 2018, booting 21 goals.
Defender Trent McKenzie has also had surgery on his right shoulder.
The 26-year-old injured his shoulder at training late last week and underwent shoulder labral repair surgery on Tuesday.
He will be restricted to limited training until the new year and then his condition will be reassessed.
