PORT ADELAIDE has finalised its side for Sunday’s Sir Doug Nicholls Round game against Essendon with Riley Bonner returning from injury and Charlie Dixon to play his first game of the season.

Bonner has not played since spraining his ankle against the Western Bulldogs in Round 8 while Dixon will be featuring at AFL level for the first time in 2022 after two rounds of ankle surgery.

Bonner takes the place of fellow defender Lachie Jones while Mitch Georgiades goes out of the side for Dixon.

Jones and Georgiades have been named among the emergencies alongside speedsters Jed McEntee and Martin Frederick.

The medical substitute will be named from among the emergency list an hour before the bounce.

Port Adelaide will for a second week wear a special guernsey designed by defender Lachie Jones in partnership with his aunt Madeleine Dirdi as part of the Sir Doug Nicholls Round celebrations.

Sunday’s game at Adelaide Oval gets underway from 4:10pm ACST.

A curtain raiser involving schools playing off in the final of the club’s Santos Aboriginal Power Cup will get underway at 2:20pm with a special performance by program participants at 3:30pm.
