THE Port Adelaide Football Club has broken its all-time membership record with a total of 63,240 members signing up in 2022 and counting.
That number surpasses the previous record of 62,321 achieved in 2021, representing a 1.5% lift year-on-year.
Port Adelaide chief executive Matthew Richardson thanked the club’s members for their loyalty throughout a rollercoaster 2022 AFL season, and also their incredible support of the club’s inaugural season in the AFLW.
“Members are at the core of our club and the connection we have with them is significant, especially as we prepare to write a new chapter in the history of the club with AFLW,” Mr. Richardson said.
“To achieve record membership as we prepare to enter AFLW, and through a season when we haven’t met expectations at AFL level says a lot about the incredible support of our community for their football club, and this is something I and the whole club are very grateful for.
“The passion and support from our members is something we never take for granted. You just needed to be at the Showdown last Saturday night to see why we have the best fans in the AFL, it was an extraordinary night to farewell a champion in Robbie Gray.”
With a strategic focus on building the next generation of Port Adelaide, the club has welcomed consistent growth across all membership categories, including reduced game and general admission memberships, with an uplift in juniors and families.
The launch of our inaugural AFLW season is driving positive momentum with more than 4,000 AFLW Foundation members already committed for the start of Port Adelaide’s AFLW story.
“There are plenty of inaugural AFLW membership options available including game access, club supporter and player sponsorships all at a variety of price points,” Mr. Richardson added.
Port Adelaide Football Club ALFW memberships are available for the first and historic season now.
The official AFL audited membership numbers will be announced soon after the industry wide cutoff date, August 31, 2022.
