INJURY clouds hang over several big names from both sides ahead of the Round 8 clash between Port Adelaide and North Melbourne.

PortAdelaideFC.com.au takes a look at who is in the mix for selection for both teams.

Port Adelaide

Jay Schulz (eye) trained strongly on Wednesday and is likely to return to the fray against the Kangaroos, adding a much needed boost to the Power’s forward line.

The forward line could be boosted further by the return of Chad Wingard, who need only pass a fitness test to prove he has recovered from his shoulder injury.

There were several eye-catching performances in the SANFL, with Danyle Pearce the pick of the bunch for his best on ground performance for Sturt. Pearce had 29 touches, 6 tackles and 8 clearances playing all over the ground and his trusty left boot would be a handy addition to a Power side that struggled to consistently hit targets against the Dockers.

Andrew Moore continues to impress and could be in line for a call-up, with his strength and clean hands around the packs a feature for North Adelaide over the past few weeks.

Meanwhile, Matt Thomas and Darren Pfeiffer helped Norwood remain unbeaten with solid performances through the midfield, and Jarrad Redden played his second game back at the Eagles, rucking well in a win over Sturt.

With so many players pushing for selection and only Aaron Young (ankle) likely to miss through injury, there will be several players under pressure to keep their spots in the Power side.

North Melbourne

As reported last night on PortAdelaideFC.com.au, Hamish McIntosh is likely to miss the clash on Saturday, opening the door for the likes of Cameron Pedersen.

Pedersen was good in the ruck for Werribee and racked up 21 possessions, making him a logical replacement should McIntosh fail to prove his fitness.

With a remarkably short injury list - just McIntosh and Scott McMahon (illness) - it’s no surprise the Roos have several other players on the cusp of selection.

Matt Campbell and Cruize Garlett have been dominating at VFL level and would add pace to an already nippy North Melbourne forward line, especially given the woes of wayward forward Lindsay Thomas.

The Roos seem to have endless options up forward, with the likes of Ben Warren (19 goals in 7 games), Aaron Black (4 goals on the weekend) and Ben McKinley (2 goals on weekend) all performing well at VFL level.

Don’t be surprised to see one forced change in the ruck and one or two more in the forward line for North as they look to go for four in a row against the Power.

Port Adelaide and North Melbourne will name their teams at 5.55pm this afternoon. See them here first.
