Captain Tom Jonas and key forward Todd Marshall have been named in Port Adelaide’s extended squad for Sunday’s clash against Essendon at Adelaide Oval.
Jonas returns to the side after serving a one-match ban and will be hoping to skipper the side to a fifth-straight victory.
Marshall is required to complete a final concussion test, but the 24-year-old has recovered well and is expected to be cleared to play.
New to the extended interchange this week are Francis Evans and Trent Dumont, who have both been making an impact at SANFL level.
Xavier Duursma comes out of the side, beginning his road to recovery after sustaining a knee injury in Friday night’s win against St Kilda.
Riley Bonner has been positioned on the wing to replace Duursma, with the 26-year-old being elevated from tactical substitute to the starting 22.
Eight players have been named on the interchange, with the four emergencies to be identified in the final team announcement at 4:30pm ACST Friday.
Emergencies that are not required on Sunday will be allowed to play in Saturday’s SANFL match against Norwood at Alberton Oval.
The tactical substitute will be selected from among the emergencies and announced one hour before the first bounce at 12:40pm ACST.
