BELOW is a Port Adelaide Football Club statement to be attributed to chief executive Keith Thomas in response to media queries regarding the future of the club in the SANFL: 

Port Adelaide has not been engaged in discussions with the AFL regarding an AFL Reserves competition since 2014. 

We are very comfortable with our current position having the Magpies represent Port Adelaide in the SANFL, as they have done for well over a century.
