THE POWER continue to be hampered by injury developments with two more young players forced from the field on the weekend.

The first – Dougal Howard – is likely to see the 2016 debutant have an anterior cruciate ligament injury confirmed this afternoon.

The second – Aidyn Johnson – will await scans to his left hamstring after suffering the injury against South Adelaide on Saturday.

Johnson had only recently returned from a right hamstring injury.

“As we said after the [AFL] game on Saturday, ‘Dougs’ looks like he’s done an ACL, but we still need to confirm whether that is the case,” Port Adelaide head of high performance Darren Burgess told portadelaidefc.com.au.

“It’s really disappointing news for Johnno, given he’s only just got back.

“He’ll have an assessment done this week.”

In better news for the Power, Jack Hombsch should be declared fit ahead of their Round 15 clash with Richmond at the Adelaide Oval.

The defensive lynchpin has been in rehab for a hamstring injury suffered against Melbourne in Alice Springs.

Jay Schulz also successfully returned in the SANFL on Saturday.

Will Snelling has also enjoyed positive news this week after being taken off the Power’s ‘indefinite’ list and given a 4-6 week timeframe to return from a foot injury.

Matt White, Matthew Lobbe and Alipate Carlile continue to progress well in their rehabilitation.
