PORT ADELAIDE'S inaugural Member Convention has been deemed a resounding success, with hundreds of members descending upon Alberton for the first ever exclusive inner-sanctum convention on Saturday morning.

The 750-strong crowd packed into Port Adelaide's indoor facility for a series of presentations designed to bring supporters inside the walls of the club's football department.

With member-exclusive attendance and no phones, recording devices or notepads permitted into the facility; it was truly an inner-sanctum experience for the Port Faithful.

Keynote speaker Ken Hinkley kicked off proceedings with an insight into the philosophies of his coaching group, and his vision for 2018 and beyond.

A series of in-depth presentations from various parts of the football department followed, delivering a level of insight rarely unveiled in professional sport.

General Manager of Football Chris Davies joined List Manager Jason Cripps to discuss the club’s list management strategy - most recently, the 2017 draft and trade period.

Forward, midfield, and defensive strategy sessions were held by Brendan Lade, Michael Voss, and Nathan Bassett alongside guest panel appearances from Power players.

Head of High Performance Ian McKeown gave exclusive insights into Port’s athletic conditioning program, while Head of Medical Services Tim O’Leary discussed the individual monitoring of injury prevention and management.

Head of Sports Science and Conditioning Stuart Graham, and Football Analyst Michael Regan gave the audience a first-hand understanding of how the players are managed on game day, and how they are monitored by the coaching staff.

Keith Thomas and David Koch capped off the day with the club’s football and strategic vision leading into its 150th year, while also providing an update on the China strategy.

The convention was followed by the club's annual Family Day and internal trail.
