WHILE everyone has being doing their top 10 lists of the past decade in recent weeks, we thought we would compile a list of the 10 things we are most looking forward to experiencing in 2020 - our 150th anniversary.

  • Celebrating 150 years of the mighty Port Adelaide Football Club

We have a history and a story like no other, and season 2020 is shaping to be one of the most exciting in our 150 years.

There are a number of initiatives throughout the year, which pay tribute to our past legends and heroes of the club, while also casting an eye on our exciting future.

Proud Past. Bold Future.

  • Our 150th Gala Dinner

What a moment to be in the room for our 150th Gala Dinner celebrations at the Adelaide Convention Centre on Friday 28 February.

1600+ people. A room full of past players and administrators. The amazing stories of our club. This will be an occasion not to be missed.

  • The Prison Bars on the national stage

Be there and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of a packed Adelaide Oval as we take on cross-town rivals Adelaide in our opening home game of the season in our famous Prison Bar guernsey.

We haven’t worn the famous jumper in the AFL since our impressive elimination final victory over Richmond in 2014, with a blockbuster home Showdown on a Saturday night in round 2 the perfect occasion to celebrate it.

  • Our 150th year commemorative scarf and NTUA are a match made in heaven

Those moments leading into the first bounce of a home game at Adelaide Oval make the hairs stand up on the back of your neck - the Port Adelaide family standing as one singing Never Tear Us Apart.

That same moment. That same feeling. New commemorative scarf above your head.

  • Prime time football at Adelaide Oval in 2020

What an opportunity to be a part of the sea of black, white, silver and teal as we host the first ever Good Friday AFL game at Adelaide Oval - a round 4 clash with West Coast on Friday evening.

We will also keep the tradition hosting a match in ANZAC Round in 2020, as we take on the Bulldogs in round 6.

Two games under lights at Adelaide Oval you don’t want to miss.

  • Our double-header birthday game

On Saturday 2 May we host North Adelaide in the SANFL and Carlton in the AFL at Adelaide Oval in a blockbuster double-header.

Be there and help us pay homage to the legends of our great club, as the AFL side run out in our first-ever guernsey design - the light blue and white hoops.

  • Young and exciting list to look forward to in 2020

Connor Rozee. Zak Butters. Xavier Duursma. Three names who entered Alberton last year and had an immediate impact.

Miles Bergman. Mitch Georgiades. Two more first-round selections added to the list at this year’s draft.

Darcy Byrne-Jones. Dan Houston. Last season’s runner-up and third-placed in the John Cahill Medal count. Both under 25.

The future looks bright.

  • Famous names return to Port Adelaide

Burgoyne and Mead are names synonymous with Port Adelaide. Four SANFL premierships, one AFL premiership, a John Cahill medal and 366 AFL games between them.

Jackson Mead and Trent Burgoyne will be looking to make their own history, but how exciting is it to see both of those names back at Alberton?!

Our second and third father-son selections in our history, behind Brett Ebert in 2002.

  • Experienced players fit and firing for 2020

Injuries have curtailed some of our most experienced players over the last couple of seasons, but seeing names like Dixon, Hartlett, Wines, Ebert, Rockliff and Watts training hard this pre-season must put a smile on the face of every Port Adelaide member and supporter out there.

  • Our 150th year anniversary logo

We embarked on a journey more than two years ago to identify a logo that presents an image of strength that is a statement of Port Adelaide’s past, present and future.

We have been overwhelmed with the support, and we can’t wait to see the commemorative united club logo displayed all over Adelaide Oval and Alberton Oval.
