FORMER Port Adelaide captain Travis Boak will take back the top job for Saturday night's Showdown 46 against Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.

Utility Steven Motlop is also strongly tipped to be recalled for the crucial clash with the Crows.

Boak, 30, will lead the Power in the absence of the club's three-man leadership group -  injured co-captains Ollie Wines (leg) and Tom Jonas (calf), while vice-captain Hamish Hartlett (hamstring) is also sidelined.

Boak has plenty of experience to call on having captained the Power from 2013-18 before standing down at the end of last season.

"Boaky is coming in and filling the void," Power senior assistant coach Michael Voss told reporters on Thursday.

"The boys are pretty familiar, he's got a bit of experience in his pre-match addresses so he should be good to go.

"He jumped at it and it was quite obvious."

The Power have confirmed defender Matthew Broadbent will make his return after a long battle with injury, in for his first senior game since round 19, 2017.

Voss didn't reveal their other changes, but Motlop – who played 156 games with Geelong before joining the Power on a four-year deal at the end of 2017 - is set to be recalled after spending the past three weeks in the SANFL.

"When you go back and touch the ball, you feel a lot better about yourself," Voss said.

"And when you're touching it, you're generally feeling pretty good.

"He's had a good look at that and he comes in, so there's no problem from our end."

Young forward Kane Farrell is also expected to come into the side, getting the nod just ahead of Aidyn Johnson.

Farrell adds pace to the forward line in place of veteran Brad Ebert, who has been ruled out with concussion.

Defender Ryan Burton didn't take part in contact training on Thursday, while midfielder Karl Amon completed some running, but Voss said both players weren't in doubt.
