PORT ADELAIDE Next Generation Academy member Lachlan Jones has been selected in the South Australian Under 16 state squad.
South Australia will compete against Western Australia, Victoria Country, and Victoria Metro in this year’s AFL National Championships in June and July.
The SA squad was trimmed from 50 to 31 players after an internal trial match played at City Mazda Stadium on Tuesday, May 29.
Jones and his teammates will play trial matches against Prince Alfred College, Sacred Heart and the SA Under 17 Futures team, ahead of the championships.
The Croweaters will be coached by SANFL Talent Pathways Manager Julian Farkas, with the first game on the championships commencing on Monday, July 9 against Vic Country.
