MELBOURNE forward James Frawley is set to play Port Adelaide this weekend according to Dee TV.

The Dees’ elite performance manager Dave Misson confirmed Frawley would train on Wednesday and should be named in the 22-man team to travel to Alice Springs for AFL Indigenous Round.

“Chip [Frawley] rehabbed really well and he did a good session [on Monday],” he said.

“We expect him to train tomorrow (Wednesday) and be available to play.”

His inclusion is likely the only one for this weekend’s ‘home’ side, with Shannon Byrnes and Mitch Clisby still 2-4 weeks away.

Frawley is a significant in for the Demons, which have been playing their best football since 2006 – the last time the red and blues played finals – according to skipper Nathan Jones.

“I’ve played with a lot of the boys that were here for the last few years and it’s been pretty tough times,” Jones told Dee TV.

“I think Roosy has instilled some confidence and belief in the group … that’s a credit to the coaching group and in particular Roosy, who is really driving that as a priority.

“A real cornerstone of our game is our teamwork and our abilities to play our roles for the team. That’s probably what’s bringing on the success for us … and that’s going to be the real backbone for us going forward.”

Port Adelaide plays the Demons at 1:10pm on Saturday 31 May.
