POWER midfielder Matt White is set to rejoin the club’s line-up against the Gold Coast Suns at Metricon Stadium this weekend, according to senior coach Ken Hinkley.

White will return to Port Adelaide’s side after a four-week recovery from a groin injury.

Hinkley praised White’s commitment to the playing group during his rehabilitation, despite being missed by the team on the field.

“He has had great for us in his first year at the club,” Hinkley said.

“You always miss someone who brings that kind of run to the team.”

Although White is likely to play the Suns, fellow midfielder Aaron Young will probably run out for the club’s SANFL side against Norwood at Alberton on Sunday.

He will travel with the squad to the Gold Coast as an emergency.

Saturday’s encounter at Metricon Stadium will be the first time the Power has met a Suns side missing its star captain Gary Ablett.

In contrast, it’s the first time since Round 15 the Power has had a fully-stocked list to choose from.

“Our personnel is at its best considering we have four long term injury players,” Hinkley said.

While Port Adelaide likely needs to win each of its final three games to keep its top four hopes alive, Hinkley’s focus is firmly on Saturday’s match against Gold Coast.

For Ken Hinkley the aim is to get as many wins as possible in the next three weeks to give the club the best chance at the end of the year.

That means his team needs to improve contested ball use and creating strong opportunities in the forward fifty.

It also means taking advantage of opportunities in crucial moments.

“We didn’t win enough of the crucial moments. We need to make sure those moments count,” Hinkley said.
